About Downtown Hope:
We exist to be transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ for the sake of our city and World. We are a church made up of believers of different ages, family structures, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds. We love and actively serve our most vulnerable neighbors, including those who live in public housing neighborhoods, immigrant communities, and friends who are disengaged and uninterested in faith or church. Currently, we offer two Sunday morning gatherings. The average weekly attendance at Downtown Hope is 250 adults and 75 children ages 0-11. Children of Hope, our children’s ministry, is currently led by a part-time director and a volunteer team.
Downtown Hope's long-term vision is to grow and plant gatherings and churches across our city, county, and region, reaching thousands of people and seeing their lives transformed by the gospel. Our approach to this vision is to follow the New Testament pattern of reaching a geography with the gospel. We do this by sending out teams of believers that will reach and form new disciples amongst the 80% of our friends, neighbors, and coworkers who are disengaged, left the church, or are unchurched. From these disciples, we will identify and develop local leaders and pastors to form and lead new gatherings. Each local gathering in turn will send out new teams to form new disciples in a new area or neighborhood. We believe reaching this vision begins with Downtown Hope flourishing as a local, sending church.
