THE DAWN

ADVENT 2025

The night had been long for Israel. Generations had waited in silence. Centuries of promises with no voice, no prophet, no visible light. Then, into the cold stillness of that darkness, a child’s cry broke through. The first light of a new day had come.

Advent is the story of that first light. It is the story of God breaking into history not with thunder but with sunrise. It should have been the darkest of times, yet it became the dawn of redemption. Through prophets and angels, shepherds and songs, God revealed that He had never been absent. Even in the shadows, His light was already rising.

We, too, live between night and day. Our world feels weary and uncertain. Headlines are heavy, hearts anxious, hope dim. But Advent reminds us that the dark is never the end of the story. God is still at work redeeming, still drawing near, still making all things new. Where cynicism clouds vision, Christ restores sight; where fear rules, His peace settles in; where joy feels distant, His presence awakens it; where love grows cold, His incarnation rekindles it.

Over these weeks, as we walk through Scripture in The Daily, gather in our Communities, and worship together on Sundays, we will learn to watch for the first light of The Dawn. To lift our eyes from the night and remember that the Light of the World has already risen. Our prayer is that fueled by the grace of the gospel, we would live as people of the day, carrying hope, peace, joy, and love into a world still waking up to the morning of Christ.
