Our passage today is a short, yet poignant one. As humans we are prone to fail, prone to sin, and as the hymn-writer Robert Robinson penned, “prone to wander, Lord I feel it / prone to leave the God I love” (Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing). We remember Peter promising loyalty to Jesus at all costs in John 13 but Jesus responds saying that he will deny Jesus multiple times. Today we see that prophecy come true. How can we be reconciled to God when we have failed so greatly? -Monica

The following guide is a resource for you to use in your personal time of solitude with the Lord as well as when you connect with the Community that you facilitate.  It can also be used for times with family or friends around the table.

[ John 18:25-27 ]
25 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, “You also are not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.”26 One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, “Did I not see you in the garden with him?” 27 Peter again denied it, and at once a rooster crowed.
