Today is June 11th. Hi! Thank you for joining in today, I am glad you are here. I hope that whatever you are going through or feeling today, that you recognize that it’s all for joy and satisfaction in the Lord. He loves you immeasurably, and there are no mistakes in where you are or what you are experiencing. In today’s passage, we see a picture of Jesus greeting his disciples with a warm breakfast by the sea after a long night of fishing. Throughout the first 14 verses there seems to be some unnecessary details, but I hope and pray that we will see that the Lord does not waste any words, and they are all helpful. Seek joy today. Praise King Jesus -Evan

The following guide is a resource for you to use in your personal time of solitude with the Lord as well as when you connect with the Community that you facilitate.  It can also be used for times with family or friends around the table.

+ WHAT is this passage saying and what is a key truth or thought that I/we learn? (Use the questions interspersed through the passage to help make additional observations to clarify the main point)

[ John 21:9-14 ]
9 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14 This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

_In context to the entire chapter up to verse 14, what can you take about about God’s sovereignty?
_What is the purpose of jesus asking the disciples to bring some fish that they just caught if there was already fish cooking on the coals?
_What is the purpose of specifying that there were 153 fish caught? What significance does the seemingly unnecessary detail carry?
_What do we learn about Jesus as a result of these 5 verse, and how does it connect to the gospel?
