Happy Friday, brothers and sisters! Today's passage concludes John's account of the woman at the well. We get to see the result of the woman's witnessing, as well as a result of Christ's own labor in Jerusalem. These are important steps in God's mission, as they demonstrate how the harvest field is a dynamic environment. The harvest we learned about earlier this week is not a single event, but a continuous work, giving us all opportunities to be active laborers in God's continuing mission. Let God’s word guide you to see the harvest fields before you, and to better understand your role in His mission.

The following guide is a resource for you to use in your personal time of solitude with the Lord as well as when you connect with the Community that you facilitate.  It can also be used for times with family or friends around the table.

CATCH-UP- What was your high and low from last week/yesterday?

SING + PRAY- Take some time for song (guitar, hymn, acapella or read a Psalm) and extended prayer as an individual/community.  A simple path of prayer is to pray through one of the Psalms as a group or use the acronym ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication).

[ John 4:42-45 ]
42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.” 43 After the two days he departed for Galilee. 44 (For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.) 45 So when he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the feast. For they too had gone to the feast.

+ WHAT is this passage saying and what is a key truth or thought that I/we learn?

(Use these questions to help make additional observations to clarify the main point)

_ Why did those whom the woman witnessed to originally believe, and why did they believe now? (v42)
_ What insight did Jesus give of how His fellow Galileans originally viewed Him? (v44)
_ What changed the Galileans' hearts and minds about Jesus? (v45)

+ HOW is the Lord calling me to action/obedience? Is there sin to confess, a next step to take, how has it gone since last time
_The witnessing work of the woman at the well initiated belief in others, but then they came to believe because of their own experience. What has God done in your own life to cause you to believe? What should you do in response to what He has done?

+ WHO am I walking with and praying for to discover Jesus, what is my next step?
(e.g., Build trust by spending time with them, set-up an intentional time to share your story, begin a discovery study on the teachings of Jesus with them)

_Galileans changed and became open to the gospel because of Jesus' work. Is there someone whom you previously tried to share the gospel with who was not receptive? Consider reaching out again to see if they have had a change of heart.
