It's Thursday, January 4, 2018. I have heard this familiar passage of Scripture used many times by televangelists and those who prescribe a "name it and claim it" Gospel message. Does the Covenant God of the Bible really promise blessings and prosperity to His people if they give money to His church or Christian charities? Well, I say yes...and no!!! Dig into this passage and let the Word of God teach and lead you in the important discipline of financial giving. Chris Adomanis
(Take time to write down responses to these questions or discuss in your group)
I have heard it said that Jesus spoke on the subject of money more than any other topic. Why do you think that is? Here are but just a few examples: Matthew 6:2-4, 19-21, 24, Mark 12:41-44, Luke 18:18-25. What's your view on the Biblical topic of tithing?
Heavenly Father, by nature, we want to be selfish and control our circumstances. Help and strengthen us to honor You in
every aspect of our lives. Amen.

_ What do you think the word "honor" means in this particular verse? What about "wealth?"
_ "Firstfruit" is an agrarian term, which most of Israel was at the time of the writing of this Psalm. Find a good Bible dictionary to find out what it means, then apply it to everyday life.
_ What does it mean to have "plenty" of something? After you answer this, what is a logical thing to do with your "plenty"?
_ Is there a negative connotation to having one's vats "bursting with wine?" After you answer this, what is a logical thing to do with your vats?
+ HOW am I compelled to confess sin and how does the gospel compel me to respond with a simple step of action/obedience? (Here are some thoughts to discuss in break-outs)
_ How does one "honor" anybody? How are you at "honoring" God? Repent of the ways when you place your own desires above what God has clearly described in His Word and He will forgive and strengthen you to be more faithful!!!
+ WHO are you walking with to discover or grow in Jesus and what is your next step with them, how can we help?
_ Who in your life TODAY is the Lord prompting you to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
_ Do you have someone in your life TODAY that challenges you (and you challenge back) to be an effective witness for Christ?
