Today is Wednesday, August 15th 2017; and I am excited to learn with you! This coming Sunday we dive into a 3 week series called “Center”, where we learn more of the dealings of Christ and how to center upon his presence. In today’s passage we learn how the Father and the Son are one.   - Max

(Take time to write down responses to these questions or discuss in your group)
_From understanding that the God we worship is one, the triune God; what ways have you been motivated to listen to Jesus’ callings in your life this last week?
_ How is the Lord impacting someone you are walking with (to help grow in or discover Jesus)?

As we open the Bible and look into the Word of God, we understand that we read a word that has been “breathed out” by Him who keeps and sustains the universe. So we find ourselves in the midst of all and complete Truth. From knowing this we expect to have life-altering changes, even in simplest form, which leads us to pray the following

Make the book live to me O’ Lord
Show me Thyself within Thy Word
Show me myself
And show me my savior
And make the book live to me O’ Lord

DISCOVER  [John 10. 24-30]
+ WHAT is this passage saying and what do we learn? (Use these questions below each portion of text to clarify the main point)

24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me,[a] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.30 I and the Father are one."
_What question are the Jews wanting answered in v.24, when asking Jesus? What is the response that Jesus gives them in v.25?
_What does Jesus say supports his claim about being the Christ in v.25?
_ Who does not hear Jesus? V.26.  Who does? For those who do hear, what becomes of them in terms of action? V.27.   What does Jesus mean by knowing his sheep? V.27
_What does Jesus give his sheep? V.28
_Who gave the sheep to Jesus? Who is greater than all? v.29
_What benefit is seen given to Jesus’ sheep when we learn ‘The Greatest’ gave them to Jesus? V29
_Who is one with Jesus? What does this say of the power, person, and nature of Jesus? v.30

+ HOW am I compelled to respond to what I learned today with a simple step of action?  (Here are some thoughts to discuss in break-outs)
_ How does what I just learned about the power, providence, passion, and person of Jesus, encourage me, and then command me to walk in obedience to what he is calling me to do this week?
_Have I been relying on my own abilities or the sovereignty of Him who holds His sheep in His hand?+ WHO are you walking with that you might pass along or encourage what you learned, with today? (e.g., your family around the dinner table, a friend, co-worker or neighbor you are walking with to discover the message Jesus)
