Happy Wednesday! Today we continue to study Thessalonians, where in this passage Paul is urging the church of Thessalonica to walk in a manner of life that is pleasing to God. Join us at our gatherings; 9:00am and 10:45am, where we grow in fellowship together, worshiping the Lord in all His glory. - Max

CONNECT (Take time to write down responses to these questions or discuss in your group)
_ What is one way the Lord has been sanctifying you? What is one area or characteristic that you wish to grow further in?
_ What is one way the Lord is impacting the life of someone you are walking with (to help grow in or discover Jesus)?

PRAY- Take some time to thank and praise God for who He is, to pray for those you are walking with, for the needs you/group are facing, and for the Spirit to highlight truth as you read.

DISCOVER  [ 1 Thes 4: 1-5 ]  Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification:that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

+ WHAT is this passage saying and what do we learn? (Use these questions to help make additional observations to clarify the main point)
_  What did Paul say the church of Thessalonica had received from him and his disciples of Christ, in vs.1? From this, what does he then ask the church to do?
_ What did the disciples give the church in vs. 2?
_ What exactly does Paul say is the will of God, in vs.3? What specific sin does he touch on?
_ What specific characteristic of sanctification does he then have the church focus on, in vs.4? What does this characteristic exemplify; also mentioned in vs.4?
_ What difference, in vs.5, does Paul broadcast to the church, between the people of God, and those who do not know Him? What command or conviction does this then give us?

+ HOW am I compelled to confess sin and respond to what I learned today with a simple concrete step of action/obedience?  (In groups discuss this in guy/girl break-outs, below are a couple of ideas to help prompt responses if needed)

+ WHO are you walking with that you might pass along or encourage what you learned, with today? (e.g., your family around the dinner table, a friend, co-worker or neighbor you are walking with to discover the message Jesus)
