Communities of Hope

What do we do with all the things we have done? What can we say about the things which are beyond apology? How can we carry on when we have betrayed everything we set our hope on?

This Sunday we are going to hear the end of Hosea's story, how he fulfills the promises he made to redeem his wife from her bondage and what this means for their marriage. Perhaps in this picture of restoration there is a place for us and a place for all the despicable and shameful things we have done, as God's people the Church, and as individuals.

Gomer, we see, loved to find her provision far from her husband yet he took her back. As we gather to worship, pray, listen and share in the Lord's Supper maybe we would begin to see the glorious and gracious God Hosea knew, and maybe we would be transformed by meeting him.
