Communities of Hope,

“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.”

James begins the last part of his letter with some of his strongest language yet. Sitting in the riches of our American western lives, being in the top percentage of the wealthiest on earth, how do we make sense of a text like this?

Thankfully the text doesn't end in the first part of this first verse, nor does our hope. Join us this Sunday as we wrestle with this incredibly challenging text to learn of the great dangers of wealth, how where we place our wealth illuminates where our hope truly lies and what it means to reimagine our wealth as a resource to join God in his unfolding redemptive narrative in the world.

Plan on arriving at 9.45 for coffee and to check your kids in and invite a friend to join in!

Grace + peace,
